BSD Recovery

BSD or Berkeley Software Distribution is the UNIX operating system. In 1970s, AT&T began the licensing of UNIX operating system and in this course when University of California at Berkeley received the source code, their Computer Systems Research Group improved the code to develop BSD. Then in the era of 1980's, BSD became famous among vendors of workstation-class systems.

Then with help of DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) in form of finance, the Berkeley Computer Systems Research Group (CSRG) provided the important source of UNIX development apart from AT&T. Along with AT&T's own System V, BSD became one of the two major UNIX flavors.

Till now the development and popularity if this operating system is not taking even a single jerk. The credit can be given to the ease with which it could be licensed, and the familiarity it found among the founders of many technology companies of this era. Also the same can be attributed to many of the advanced tools of modern computing. Ther are three freeware operating systems called FreeBSD, NetBSD and OpenBSD.

Berkeley 's UNIX was the first UNIX to include libraries supporting the Internet Protocol stacks which are commonly referred as Berkeley sockets. Many of the other features are listed below:

  • Reading and writing data across the network is easy due to integration of sockets and file descriptors.
  • Common Access Protection Profile
  • Software life cycle process documentation
  • Separation of administrative role
  • Compartmented Mode Workstation
  • Use of binary compatibility layer so as to work as native operating system

Now-a-days with regard to the range of features, BSD is now being used as a testbed for technology by many academic and commercial organizations mostly in embedded devices. The quality of its source code and documentation is making it suitable for the range of purposes and this is the fact why more and more data is being stored on these operating system.

But unfortunate sticks to this OS also, instead of being so secure, in the form of data loss. The reasons can be like:

  • Corruption of the Root Directory
  • VTOC corruption
  • Corruption in the primary and/or secondary super block corruption
  • Corruption in Inode table
  • Boot record corruption
  • Human error like accidental deletion
  • Deletion of hard drive volume
  • Operating system malfunction
  • Loss of some important system file

But simultaneously fortunate runs in the form of BSD recovery, which is possible through BSD data recovery software. The data lost can be critical and relevant from many views. As stated that this OS is widely accepted where some scientific research goes on, so this data may possess the related information which loss in a blink of eye is certainly not acceptable. But there is no need to worry as BSD data recovery software are there for your help.

For BSD recovery in any of the case, a scan of the affected hard drive is required and which is well implied by these software. They enable data recovery BSD through the use of algorithms which could retrieve your lost data back in action.

Stellar Phoenix BSD Data Recovery software is the most advanced and well built help that you can ask for in any of the situation of data loss. This non-destructive and read only utility never alters your data and thus assures you safe BSD data recovery.

This BSD data recovery software works well for all the three operating systems of BSD viz. FreeBSD, OpenBSD and NetBSD for the file systems like UFS1 and UFS2. This BSD recovery tool performs recovery in all cases of lost file and folders and volumes. The integrity of the corrupt data will be well verified by this BSD data recovery software.

ou will find the user interface very interactive and easy to use and the same can be checked through its free demo version along with its usability. You can have the demo version of this BSD recovery software from the Stellar's website.
